The Barton Studio, completed in 2006, is located on
Lake Jennette. As the studio’s structure is predominantly glass,
natural light fills its interior space, giving way to stirring views
of countryside and wildlife. Students paint in the comforts of this
spectacular studio while learning the effects of light, enabling them
to see color and texture in its truest form.
To capture a plein air experience, students may move out of doors and
paint from nature by the water’s edge or venture into one of the
many painterly settings found throughout the grounds.
The Barton Studio is another ideal painting site at the C. Barton McCann
School of Art where students work in a relaxed atmosphere, receiving
detailed technical instruction and guidance in their creative development.
